The "Legacy House"
This client wanted a legacy home that could be passed down through the generations. This was another riverfront home but on a very small site which made equipment staging and material storage as challenging as the build itself. Small spaces coupled with 600+ pound heavy wood beams and timbers made this one a bear but in the end it turned out beautiful. Most everything here was high end and there was a ton of stonework. The exterior on this home included wraparound stone accent walls, stone piers, hand crafted solid douglas fir wood post, beams, and arched accent trusses, vinyl shake siding, aluminum capped window and door trim as well as frieze boards, profiled roof edges, Marvin windows, T&G knotty pine porch ceilings, exposed aggregate sidewalks and patio, and not one but two stone veneer chimneys. The interior featured a mixture of LVT flooring throughout, painted trim and two panel solid wood doors, painted kitchen and bath cabinetry, quartz countertops, a wood burning stove in the sunroom as well as a gas fireplace in the great room each with beautiful stone chases, lots of built-ins, Onyx showers, and a master suite with lighted tray ceiling, river view, and access to the back patio. What a beauty. Thanks to Dean & Lisa Huya.
The "Guest House"
This was another unique and challenging build. The client already had a stunning log home residence that sits on a steep hill with great views of the city. He commissioned us to design and build a gambrel style log sided guest house that would compliment the log home already on the property. The home was to have guest bedrooms for friends and family, a room for the clients band to play, a garage for the clients "toys", a large entertaining/living area, a smaller kitchenette, extra storage space, and a third story loft that could be used as a game room. The main issue was space. There was literally about 10' to spare in all directions around the homes future footprint and a large retaining wall even had to be put in to make the site conducive to fitting the new home. We think the results were impressive. This homes exterior features include a split face block foundation, yellow pine log siding, Pella Lifestyles windows, Everlast Omni steel roofing, Therma Tru entrance doors, a spacious wraparound treated wood deck, and CHI overhead doors. The interior offers maintenance free LVT flooring throughout, knotty pine wainscot, doors, and trim all with a clear sealer to bring out the natural beauty of the pine, oak staircases, knotty alder kitchen & bath cabinetry, and LG Hi-macs solid surface counter tops with seamless undermount sinks. Part two to this project was building a connecting deck and landing system that connected the main residence to the guest house. Considering the extremely steep and rocky hillside, this was a challenge in itself but as always the crew got the job done! Thanks to Bob Perrett
The "Barn House"
This client commissioned us to build a four finished level house that had a lot of visuals that you would find in an old fashioned barn. This home has all of the high end details you would find in a home of such distinction. The exterior features include an ICF foundation, veneer stone, hardie cement board siding, ribbed steel roofing, Pella Architectural series windows, two giant cupolas with working gas lights that can be seen from miles away, solid wood 8' french doors, composite and vinyl maintenance free porch, and CHI stamped carriage house overhead doors. The interior features all solid wood doors and trim, hickory staircase, barn beams and ceiling details created from material repurposed from a near 100 year old barn, all hand made cabinetry, soapstone counters in the kitchen, hand carved sandstone sinks in the master bath, a kitchen island with real stone derived from the owners fields, railing balusters made from 3/4" rebar, "hayloft" doors to the finished attic rooms which also have hidden staircases and serve as the childrens play areas, an antique hay trolley in the great room ceiling, character grade antique oak flooring combined with brick tile in wet areas, and so much more. This was a truly unique and beautiful home. Thanks to Todd and Kristy Graves.
The "River House"
This was another gorgeous custom home we built on the banks of the Allegheny River just 5 minutes outside of Warren. This house has a ton of character and one of the most beautiful little entrance porches you will ever see. Some of exterior features include a spacious treated wood deck with a perfect view of the river, a full stone veneer chimney, stone accent wall in the entry porch, re-purposed barn posts and beams, maintenance free vinyl batten board siding with shake details in the gables, and lots of windows to enjoy that view. Interior features include hand crafted quarter sawn oak vanities with granite tops, white washed knotty pine kitchen cabinetry also with granite tops, a spacious kitchen island with veneer stone backing, dark stained knotty alder trim and doors, a stair railing made from barn beams and rebar, antique oak flooring in the main living areas with LVT tiles in the kitchen and bath areas, custom tile shower in the master, a sunroom, and a wood burning fireplace overlooking the river. Thanks to Rod Nobles and Linda Taydus.
